What cookies and storage are

A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser, so it can recognize the browser on a later visit. Session storage is similar, but stays inside one browser tab and is cleared when you close it.

This site uses as few of either as it can. There are no advertising cookies and nothing that follows you to other sites.

Strictly necessary

These make a feature you asked for work, so they can’t be switched off on the site. They hold nothing that identifies you to anyone else.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages are visited and how people arrive, so we can improve the site. It sets these cookies on plugwheel.com:

Analytics cookies
NameSet byWhyHow long
_gaGoogle AnalyticsTells one visit from another2 years
_ga_X2VY416RH5Google AnalyticsKeeps the state of a visit2 years

The site works exactly the same without them.

Booking window

When you open the booking window, Calendly’s scheduler loads inside it from calendly.com. Calendly may set its own cookies there, under its own cookie policy. Nothing from Calendly loads until you open the window.

How to turn them off

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. Most browsers can block them for one site only.
  • Install Google’s opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics on every site.
  • Close the tab to clear everything in session storage.

Our site doesn’t change its behavior when a browser sends a Do Not Track signal. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, which we don’t do in any case.
